Luca Cerizza, the curator of the Italian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2024, has accompanied Elodie Seguin since the very beginning of her artistic practice. In this interview, they discuss the ideas that Seguin has pursued from the very beginning, further developments and her exhibition Look Loop.
With Look Loop, the PEAC Museum is showing the French artist's first comprehensive institutional solo exhibition in Germany. Seguin has created a unique exhibition layout for the museum that encompasses the entire exhibition space and transforms each room into a new work. In her multifaceted and cross-genre oeuvre, which includes wall works, reliefs, objects and spatial installations, Seguin explores the interaction of colours, the spatial effect of contrasts and the effect of light and transparency.
Luca Cerizza is a freelance curator and art writer. He currently lives in Berlin. Since 2006 has been teaching curatorial studies and museology in the MA program of NABA (Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, Milan). In the last 25 years Cerizza has an extensive practice as curator in different institutions in Italy and abroad, including solo exhibitions on Gianfranco Baruchello (Raven Row, 2017), Tino Sehgal (OGR, 2018) and Massimo Bartolini (Centro Pecci, 2022-23). He has been the curator of the Italian Pavilion at Venice Biennale 2024.
